Safe Assign is a useful tool in educating students about plagiarism and the importance of proper citation for borrowed content.

Papers submitted to Safe Assign are compared against Safe Assign is integrated into regular Blackboard Assignments so almost all of the regular Assignment features are available with the Safe Assign service.

It is your and your instructor's responsibility to investigate whether the matching text is properly referenced or not.

Detailing every match prevents detection errors due to differences in citing standards.

Safe Assign only supports file types that are convertible to plain text such as DOCX, DOC, PPT, PPTX, PDF, TXT, ODT, RTF, HTML, and HTM. Before submitting to Safe Assign be sure to remove any special characters (“, #, @, %, &, etc.) or spaces from the file name.

Once you enter the Safe Assignment, you will see the assignment information again.

There is a comment box in which you can make comments and a Browse button with which to attach a file.
